Sink drain cleaning in Worcester — kitchen, bath, and laundry

Grease in the kitchen, hair in the bath, a laundry standpipe that coughs when the washer dumps. Roto-Rooter clears sink drains at the trap and down the branch. Call or text (508) 335-3306. HIC#208076.

Sink clogs we clear and what packed them

Start at the trap. If the trap is clean and the sink still sits, the stop is in the branch or the stack — not another bottle of drain cleaner.

Kitchen

  • Grease cake in the trap
  • Disposal packed into the line
  • Dishwasher dumping into a slow sink
  • Double-bowl with one side dead

Bath

  • Hair in the pop-up
  • Soap and toothpaste sludge
  • Overflow that will not drain
  • Shared bath stack running slow

Laundry

  • Standpipe overflow on spin
  • Lint in the trap
  • Washer dumping faster than the line
  • Utility sink sharing the same branch

Open the trap before you buy another bottle

A kitchen that drains overnight and sits in the morning is almost always grease. Worcester’s hard water and a tight 1½-inch branch make a slick that a plunger will not move. We pull the trap, see what is in it, and cable the line if the stop is farther down. Drain cleaner that already sat in the pipe is a chemical we have to work around — say so when you call.

If both bowls, the dishwasher, and a nearby bath gurgle together, that is not this page alone. That is a branch or the main sewer. We will tell you which before we keep spinning. The bowl, faucet, and basket strainer are sink plumbing; this page is the drain. 61 Sandra Dr.

Labor and materials

Sink drain clearing is quoted after we see the trap and how far the stop sits. A packed P-trap is not the same job as a kitchen line full of grease to the stack. If jetting is the right tool, that is the hydro jetting page — we quote it before we switch machines.

Call or text (508) 335-3306 with kitchen, bath, or laundry, and whether more than one fixture is slow.

Keep the next sink from sitting

  • Grease goes in a can, not the disposal. Cold water does not “flush it through.”
  • A strainer in the bath catch is cheaper than opening the pop-up every season.
  • If the dishwasher backs into the sink, the knockout plug or the drain line is the first check — then this page.
  • Stop pouring drain cleaner down a line that already sits. It sits on the clog and on whoever opens the trap.

Frequently asked questions

Can you just snake it from the sink?

Often. If the trap is the clog, we open it and we are done. If the cable hits a hard stop in the branch, we move to a cleanout or talk about the main.

The sink is fine. The toilet is the problem.

That is toilet drains. This page is kitchen, bath, and laundry bowls.

Do I need a new sink?

Not for a clog. A cracked bowl, a failed basket, or a vanity that is already swollen is sinks. We will not sell you a sink to clear a trap.

The clog came back in a week.

Then the stop was not at the fixture. Recurring kitchen grease or a house that gurgles is a candidate for a camera before we cable the same line again.
