Install
- New pump in an existing pit
- Pit liner where there was only a hole
- Discharge to daylight or a dry well
- GFCI or dedicated receptacle check
Worcester basements take on water in a wet spring. A pump that does not start, a check valve that slams, or a pit with no pump at all is the call. Roto-Rooter installs and replaces sump pumps. Call or text (508) 335-3306.
The pump is a motor in a hole. The check valve, the discharge, and the power are what make it a system.
We size the pump to the pit and the inflow you actually have — a weeping footing is not the same as a house that takes surface water. Discharge has to leave the foundation and stay leaving; dumping at the sill and hoping is how the water comes back in. A check valve that slams can be replaced with a quieter listed valve and a union so the next pump does not mean cutting pipe.
You pick the pump. We set it, plumb the discharge, and test the float. Battery backups are extra equipment you supply. We do not claim the basement will never flood — we claim the mechanicals will be in working order.
Sump installs and replacements are quoted on site. The pump, check valve, pit liner, and discharge pipe are materials. Cutting a new pit in a finished floor is a different job than dropping a pump in a liner that is already there.
If the basement already has standing water, say so — extraction is basement flooding work, then the pump. Call or text (508) 335-3306.
If the basement has finished space or you lose power in every storm, a backup is cheap insurance. We install the unit you buy. We will not upsell a battery pack you did not ask for.
Discharge is frozen, crushed, or the check valve is stuck. The motor can sound busy and still move nothing. We check the line before we condemn the pump.
Yes. That means cutting the slab, setting a liner, and running a discharge. It is a real job, quoted after we see the floor and where water can leave the house.
No. A sump handles groundwater. An ejector handles waste from a bath below sewer level. Different tank, different pump, different venting. Describe what is in the pit when you call.
