Salt-based
- Resin tank and brine drum
- Ion exchange for hardness
- Needs salt and a drain
- The usual Worcester install when a test says yes
Worcester has soft water. Households typically do not need a tank of salt. If a hardness test says otherwise, Roto-Rooter installs and services softeners. Call or text (508) 335-3306. HIC#208076.
Ion exchange is the job. A conditioner is a different product. Magnetic clips and shower-head gadgets are not this page.
We test before we recommend a tank. See hard water test. If Worcester city water is already soft, a salt system is equipment you will feed forever for no gain. If the number is high — a well, a different town, a house that already has scale — we set the unit you buy, plumb the bypass, and run the drain.
We handle disconnect of the old unit if there is one, set, piping, and the first regen. Reverse osmosis for drinking water is filtration, not a softener. 61 Sandra Dr.
Softener installation is quoted after we see the supply, the drain, and the footprint. It is not a posted package that guesses your grain size. New customers $75/hr. Regular rate $100/hr when the work is hourly.
Call or text (508) 335-3306 if a test already showed hardness, or if a tank in the basement is leaking or bypassed.
Usually not on city water. We test first. Wells and some nearby towns are the houses that actually need a tank.
Salt-based ion exchange is the equipment that removes hardness. A salt-free conditioner is a different product. We will not sell one as the other.
After a hardness test and a look at the supply, drain, and footprint. Grain size and tank layout are part of the on-site quote.
Call or text (508) 335-3306. Bring a hardness number if you have one, or ask for the test on the same visit.
