Washing machine hookup in Worcester — valves, drains, and leaks

A flooded laundry room is usually a burst hose, a seized shutoff, or a standpipe that cannot take the discharge. Roto-Rooter replaces valves, sets drain stands, and hooks up the washer you already own. Call or text (508) 335-3306.

Washer plumbing we service

The machine is yours. The water in and the water out are ours.

Shutoffs

  • Seized hot or cold stop
  • Single-lever laundry valve
  • Leak at the packing nut
  • No valve, hose on a boiler drain

Drain stand

  • Standpipe too short or missing
  • Discharge onto the floor
  • Trap under the box dry or wrong
  • Slow drain backing into the tub

Hoses

  • Rubber hose burst
  • Braided line weep at the ferrule
  • Wrong length, hose kinked
  • Hot and cold reversed

Pan

  • Drain pan under a second-floor laundry
  • Pan drain not tied in
  • Washer on a finished floor with no pan
  • Overflow from a failed hose

Hook it up so the next failure is a drip, not a ceiling

Second-floor laundry in a Worcester two-family is a different risk than a basement hookup. We want working shutoffs you can reach, braided or listed hoses, and a standpipe that can take the pump-out without blowing the trap. A pan with a drain is not cosmetic upstairs — it is the difference between a wet subfloor and a call to the tenant below.

You supply the washer. We do not repair transmissions or lids. If the drain is slow, that may be the standpipe trap or the house line — we will say which, and point you at drain cleaning when it is not a plumbing hookup.

Labor and materials

Washer hookups and valve replacements are quoted on site. Hoses, valves, standpipe kits, and pans are materials. A basement swap onto existing valves is not the same job as adding a laundry box where there was only a utility tub.

Call or text (508) 335-3306 with basement vs. second floor, and whether water already ran.

Do this before the hose lets go

  • Replace rubber washer hoses on a schedule. They fail on a Tuesday while you are at work.
  • Shut the valves when you leave for a week. If they will not turn, that is the call — not after they snap.
  • Keep the standpipe clear. Lint and soap in a 2-inch trap will overflow the next heavy load.
  • Upstairs laundry without a pan is a decision. We can add one when the machine is already pulled.

Frequently asked questions

Do you move and level the washer?

We hook up water and drain and set it so the hoses are not kinked. A full appliance install with stacking kits and venting for a dryer is a different conversation — say what you need when you book.

The washer drains onto the floor.

The hose is off the standpipe, the pipe is too short, or the trap cannot take the flow. We fix the plumbing. If the house drain is restricted, that becomes drain cleaning.

Can you add hot and cold where I only have a utility sink?

Often, by tying into nearby supplies and adding a box. We look at the wall and the drain before we promise a laundry closet.

A hose burst and the ceiling is wet.

We stop the water and replace the failed hookup. Drying and finish work is water damage if you want that handled too.
