Basement extraction and drying are quoted after we see the depth and whether it is groundwater or sewage. New customers $75/hr. Regular rate $100/hr when the work is hourly. A new sump, a check valve, or cabling a floor drain is a separate plumbing or drain quote.

Keep the next storm from filling the same room
- Pour a bucket in the sump twice a year and watch the float. A stuck float is a silent failure.
- Clear the exterior discharge in winter. A frozen outlet is a flooded basement with a pump that “ran fine.”
- Pour a quart into unused floor drains so the trap does not dry out and smell — or worse, fail to seal.
- Leaders that dump at the foundation belong farther out. That is how clean rain becomes a wet slab.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a sump problem or a drain problem?
A sump is groundwater. A floor drain on the sanitary side is sewage. If the pit is the issue, that is sump pumps. If the grate is pushing sewage, that is floor drains. We will look before we guess.
Do I need a backup pump?
If the basement has finished space or you lose power in every storm, a backup is cheap insurance. We install the unit you buy. See sump pumps.
The water went down. Should I still call?
Yes if the slab is still wet, the pad sat, or this happens every rain. Pumping once does not fix a frozen discharge or a restricted main.
